At what age does one have this peeling?
The average age of our patients is 53. Our oldest patient is 93. The youngest 18, she did it for acne scars.

Are there potential problems?
Severe diabetes, Kidney disease, active acne, unrealistic expectations, dysmorphophobia.

Is it painful?
The operation itself is not, the 2 to 3 hours that follow are very hot, then the sensation of heat fades away progressively and the first night is always peaceful. Then, on the third day, when the powder dries, there is a sensation of tightening of the face during 3 hours. The problem of the rest of the week is boredom!

Is it possible to treat only some areas of the face?
This is possible if specific areas of the face – the upper lip or around the eyes – are much more wrinkled than the rest of the face, then they can be treated with Exopeel but the rest of the face must be treated with a medium peel or the difference with the rejuvenated areas by Exopeel would show too much. This kind of peeling is called a Combined Peeling.

Can all skin types be treated ?
Skin types are classified according to their colour and ability to tan. Fair skins are treated without problem, olive skin as well, even asian skin. The more the skin is thin, the more the result will be striking.

Where does the treatment take place?
In an Office Surgery, with the environment of safety it must have for an operation with local anaesthesia. For very old patients or patients that request it, we work in a clinic. How is the follow-up after the 8th day? After the removal of the powder mask, the skin is pink for several days, but can have make up, then, the pink colour fades rapidly.

Can there be adverse reactions?
- In the case of very white skins, the pink colour after the peeling takes longer to dissipate, but you have to know that this colour is witness of the dilation of the blood vessels in order to transport the molecules necessary for the reconstruction of the new skin. It is thus normal to be pink.
- In the area around the eyes small crusts can remain for 4 or 5 days longer
- Hyperthrophic scars are exceptional with the formula Exopeel, it is this safety that makes it different from other phenol formulas.
- Hyper- and hypochromia (darker and fairer spots) are exceptional if the treatment has been carried out with a good evaluation of the deepness of effect.
Are there one or several treatments?
A single treatment. But for the case of acne scars a second treatment, limited on the scarred areas, can be planned from the start, 3 to 6 months after the first.

What can be expected from a deep peel EXOPEEL?
An extraordinary rejuvenation of 7 to 15 years, depending on the age of the patient and the number of wrinkles. The more the skin was wrinkled initially, the more the result is amazing. Not only the wrinkles and lines have vanished but there is also a real lifting effect thanks to the new synthesis of elastic fibres and collagene.

Who carries out EXOPEEL?
EXOPEEL can only be carried out by doctors
- highly qualified enough to be admitted to an official apprenticeship
- having followed this apprenticeship with success

Is there an associated treatment?
In order to prepare you for the operation, the doctor will prescribe you HSP.
To help you rebuild your new skin, he will prescribe DPO. In case of herpes during the last 5 years, you will get a preventive treatment.
A treatment with Botox carried out one to eight weeks before the peeling will stop excessive movement of your facial muscles and allow the new skin on your face reconstruct smoothly.
